Client's Objective:

Intel's Computer Clubhouse program is an after school learning program aimed to help young people from under-served communities. Adult mentors work to help participants develop their ideas and computer skills. Intel wanted to develop an application allowing clubhouses to showcase work to one another and enable online collaboration between clubhouses.

Solution:

  • Designed and developed a video conference application closely resembling a "town meeting"
  • Invited the targeted users into the design process to help shape the visual identity
  • Deployed and maintained the application and dependent services

Results:

The final product allowed one host-user to control the broadcasted content on all other participant's screens. In true control room style, the host progresses the presentation with his/her control of everyone's video, audio, and text. All participants are invited to ask questions which can be broadcasted to all participants. This presentation style with full audience participation feels alot like calling into a TV talk show or raising your hand to engage in conversation during a town meeting.
